Nodofi Relay — Windows
========================

This is Nodofi Relay's own source code, plus scripts to run it and (optionally) start it automatically. It
needs Node.js 18 or later already installed — see INSTALL.md if you don't have it yet (it's a normal installer
from nodejs.org, a couple of clicks).

To start it automatically whenever you sign in (recommended):
    Double-click install-startup.bat
    (The first time, this also installs the app's own dependencies — needs an internet connection and takes
    a minute. If it says it needs administrator rights, right-click it and choose "Run as administrator",
    then try again — this is usually not needed.)

To just try it out, running in this window only (closing the window stops it):
    Double-click run.bat

Then check http://localhost:8820 in your browser — you should see a small JSON status response.

By default this is a free, open, unregistered relay. To configure it (a registry to check node identities
against, whether to charge for access, whether to list it in a directory), edit the .env file in this same
folder, then run install-startup.bat again (or just relaunch run.bat).

To stop the automatic startup later:
    Double-click uninstall-startup.bat
    Your .env is kept — delete that file yourself if you want it gone.
